South Indian Filter: how to brew it
Filter
Fine-medium grind
Written for a washed, medium-roast arabica. Open this from one of our coffees and the numbers change to suit it.
- Coffee
- 20 g
- Water
- 120 ml about ½ cup
- Water temperature
- 92 °C — boiled, then left about a minute
- Brew time
- 20 minutes
That is a ratio of 1:6, if you would rather scale it.
- Pack the coffee into the upper chamber and level it. Do not tamp it hard.
- Pour in the hot water, cover, and leave it alone.
- It will finish dripping in fifteen to twenty minutes.
- Mix one part decoction to three parts hot milk, and sugar to taste.
- It is ground for this brewer already. If it runs through too fast, use a little more coffee rather than reaching for a finer grind.
Ground fine for this brewer before it was bagged.
