Percolator: how to brew it
Percolator
For a stovetop or electric percolator.
Written for a washed, medium-roast arabica. Open this from one of our coffees and the numbers change to suit it.
- Coffee
- 55 g
- Water
- 1000 ml about 4¼ cups
- Brew time
- 8 minutes
That is a ratio of 1:18, if you would rather scale it.
- Fill the basket level and assemble the pot.
- Bring it up gently and keep it barely perking.
- Take it off after seven to ten minutes.
- It is ground for this brewer already. If it runs through too fast, use a little more coffee rather than reaching for a finer grind.
- A percolator boils by construction, so the temperature is not yours to set.
Ground coarse for this brewer before it was bagged.
