Channi: how to brew it
Mesh strainer
For brewing straight in the pan and straining through a mesh.
Written for a washed, medium-roast arabica. Open this from one of our coffees and the numbers change to suit it.
- Coffee
- 12 g
- Water
- 150 ml about ¾ cup
- Water temperature
- 90 °C — boiled, then left about a minute
- Brew time
- 4 minutes
That is a ratio of 1:13, if you would rather scale it.
- Bring the water to the boil, then take the pan off the heat for half a minute.
- Stir the coffee in and leave it to steep for four minutes.
- Pour it through the strainer into the cup.
- It is ground for this brewer already. If it runs through too fast, use a little more coffee rather than reaching for a finer grind.
Ground fine for this brewer before it was bagged.
